Hi! I know....you don't recognize me! You haven't seen me here for quite awhile. But I have great news.
The Amazing Digital Scrapbook Race v.7 is about to start and I am going to participate with my iPixelator buddy, Cindy, again this year. In honor of that, I've decided to temporarily restart this blog. I'm not really sure how long I will keep it going, but I think this is where I will show off my challenge steps.
Cindy and I were both on the fence about participating this year, but neither of us really wanted to sit it out. We also did not want to let our partner down, though. So after thinking it over, we realized that neither of us plans to win the grand prize anyway, so if at some point one or both of us drop out, it isn't a big deal. And to make it even easier, the race only lasts 4 weeks this year instead of the usual 6! And until we feel overwhelmed, we get the fun of doing the challenges, as well as the leg prizes along the way. So....the iPixelators are BACK! Wish us luck.
And if you want to participate, there is still a little bit of time to sign up. You have until midnight PST to grab a partner and sign up at the ADSR7 website. You can find the details here.

On 'Break'
As you've probably noticed, this blog has not been very active lately. With the approach of summer, things are becoming busier for me. So I've decided to take a break from blogging so I can concentrate on scrapping. If things get slower in the fall, I will probably pick this up again, and if I have something exciting to share, I will pop in occasionally. But for now, I am 'On Break'!
If you want to continue to follow me in the Amazing Digital Scrapbook Race, you can check out my gallery here at NDISB.
If you want to see what else I've been up to, you can check out my Gotta Pixel gallery here.
If you want to follow what is happening at Gotta Pixel check out the Gotta Pixel blog here, or subscribe to the Gotta Pixel newsletter here.
If you are a reader, I hope you will follow my reading blog, Time 2 Read, here. I plan to update that one several times a week with reviews of books I've read and ebook freebies, as well as other news of interest to readers. Hope to see you there!

ADSR6 - Leg 7 Layout
I finished my layout for leg 7. It was not easy! We had to use a very specific list of elements, some of which aren't easy to find. Luckily, other racer came through with freebies! Here is the list of elements.
1 paper
2 Different Trees
2 Different Types of Leaves
2 Different Types of Flowers
2 Different Rocks
Fence
Squirrel
Chipmunk
Mushrooms
Grass
Butterfly
Bird
Sun
1 frame
1 photo
I don't think my layout turned out terrible. It is just not something I would ever do. The emphasis on the elements instead of the photos or jouranling is just not why I scrap. If you look through the gallery at NDISB, you will see some managed to pull this off better than I did, but here is my layout. (Click on this link if you want to see credits.)

Leg 6
Leg 6 is an optional layout. It was originally scheduled to be hosted at Digital Scrap Ink. However the owner, Michelle Laven, is gravelly ill with Creutzfeld-Jacob disease. This disease basically causes the rapid deterioration of the brain, destroying all mentally functioning and leading to death. If you would like to read Michelle's story, please click here and keep Michelle in your thoughts and prayers.
Because Digital Scrap Ink is not able to host the challenge, NDISB stepped up with an optional challenge. The challenge here is to create a card for Michelle. Here are the requirements.
Here is my card. I used a photo I had from earlier years of the daffodils by my mailbox in my old house, and used the 'Springalinga' page kit by Sara Ellis that I had in my stash.
And here is Cindy's card.

New ADSR Challenges are posted
I know I am way behind. I still need to show you what I have done for challenge 6. But while you are waiting, you may want to go take a peek at 7 & 8.
Challenge 7 is hosted by Creative Pixel Designs here. This one is going to be difficult for me, as it involves doing something that is not a style I am fond of. We are to construct a garden scene using some very specific elements; mushrooms, squirrels and chimunks, among other.
After that, challenge 8 will look easy! Challenge 8 is hosted by Sunshine Studio Scraps here. Basically, the challenge involves scrapping the answer to the question "What does family mean to me?", using a recipe provided by the host site.
I have until Sunday night to get these posted, so keep watching.
